PALADINO: "ANDREW'S NOT CAPABLE OF TELLING THE TRUTH"

Republican Candidate for Governor NY cites Cuomo lie about 2005 vote

(BUFFALO, NY) - Businessman Carl Paladino, the Republican candidate for Governor of New York, today criticized his opponent Andrew Cuomo for lying again in a press conference yesterday.

In a Manhattan press event Wednesday where independent New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed Cuomo in the race, Cuomo claimed that he had voted for Bloomberg in 2005. In fact, he did not: that same year he endorsed and campaigned for Fernando Ferrer. (http://bit.ly/ciZRH5)

"Cuomo lied about voting for Bloomberg yesterday or he lied about voting for Ferrer in 2005," Paladino said. "Either way, he lied and voters are tired of career politicians' lies after Spitzer, Hevesi and Paterson. Here's what the voters can be sure of: I may not always say things in the most delicate way, but I will always be honest with voters and tell them exactly what I believe."

"Andrew, if you don't have the courage to debate a simple businessman from Buffalo you don't have the courage to take on the entrenched specials interests whose stranglehold on Albany is killing our state."

"Andrew won't debate me because he knows I'm right about him," Paladino said.

"Andrew Cuomo lit the fuse of the global financial meltdown as Secretary of Housing and his screw-ups at HUD cost taxpayers $2.4 trillion dollars," Paladino said. "If your 401K is worth less today you can blame Andrew Cuomo. If I'm wrong why doesn't Andrew have the courage to debate?"

"I agree with Andrew: he should be judged on his record as Attorney general," Paladino said. "Andrew Cuomo is among the worst Attorney Generals in New York history. He gives a pass to rich Democrats caught violating the law. He ducks the question of Obamacare, when it will cost New Yorkers millions in new taxes. He ducks terrorist trials in downtown Manhattan civilian courts. And he ducks on the Governor's plan to furlough state employees to save money."

"And if I'm wrong, why doesn't Andrew have the courage to debate?"

"Andrew Cuomo cannot duck a debate with me," Paladino said. "He can decide to debate now or later as his lead in the polls slips away but, ultimately, he will debate me. You can bank on it."
