PALADINO: REPEAL CAPITAL GAINS TAX, CUT CORPORATE FRANCHISE TAXES
"It's time to get people working again."
(BUFFALO, NY) - Buffalo builder Carl Paladino, candidate for Governor of New York, today added more detail to his pledge to cut taxes, promising to repeal the capital gains taxes and cut the corporate franchise tax to spur economic growth and create new jobs.
"This campaign is not about my family - its not about divorces or affairs," Paladino said. "It's about who has a plan to restore prosperity and economic growth to New York State."
"We must rebuild New York and get our state moving again," Paladino said. "The only way we can get our state back on the road to economic health is by repealing and cutting the onerous taxes that have driven business out of New York and killed jobs."
"I will eliminate the capital gains taxes and cut the corporate franchise tax rate in my first budget," Paladino said. "Instead of chasing businesses out of the state, we must keep them here, attract more and welcome investment in New York State."
"To rebuild New York, I will cut corporate franchise taxes drowning our businesses today - I won't cap them, I will cut them," said Paladino, who built hundreds of commercial properties across upstate New York. "This will save New York businesses hundreds of millions every year."
"The New York State capital gains tax is choking off investment and killing the entrepreneurial spirit of New Yorkers," Paladino said. "It brings in little in revenue but adds to the burden of those trying to open or expand businesses."
"Andrew Cuomo's plan to create jobs is little more than political doublespeak wrapped around a call to add new government agencies to our already bloated bureaucracy," Paladino said. "The government can't create jobs, only entrepreneurs and businesses will create jobs to rebuild New York and get New Yorkers working again."
"We need a debate about who has a plan restore job growth to New York," Paladino said. "It's about who will clean out corruption in Albany and who will restore integrity to government. It's about who will stop the outright waste of our tax dollars and who has the courage to take on the special interests destroying our state."
"And in the end, this race is about who has a track record of creating jobs and growth and who has a track-record as an Albany Insider," Paladino said.
