How did debate watchers view candidates?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - So did anyone win the gubernatorial debate? Paladino and Cuomo supporters weigh in on the lively debate.
A group of local Democrats who were backing Andrew Cuomo before the debate are still very much behind him now.
Nick Crocco said, "I think he's knocking it out of the park."
"Ya know, I think compared to the other candidates, Andrew really comes across as the best one," added Tess Morrissey.
Crocco said, "It's kinda like watching a circus to me, you know? I think Andrew doesn't have to say much."
Tanisha Pinkins said, "I think the fact that he wants to reduce some of the 10,500 governments that we have would save money and I think he also wants to reduce some of the mandates that we have."
Carl Paladino started off appearing very nervous.
Robert Krausz said, "Well, it shows that Carl's not a polished politician and that's exactly what we don't need in this state government. We need somebody that's like us, somebody that knows our problems and can solve them. And that's Carl."
Paladino stayed mostly on topic even when some candidates took jabs at him.
Anti-prohibition candidate Kristin Davis said, "Businesses leave this state quicker than Carl Paladino at a gay bar."
Candra Thomason said, "There were some pretty silly answers given by other candidates, and I think he's holding his composure pretty well. I think he's wanted the opportunity to reach all of New Yorkers for a long time and he wanted to talk about the issues.'
Ralph Aversa said, "As a good thorough bred, proved to be a winner at the end."
Paladino's most emphatic answer seemed to be his call for better schools.
Paladino said, "Because those children are entitled to an education."
Even though there seemed to be a crowded field of seven candidates in this debate, one viewer pointed out that all seven of them earned the right to be there by collecting thousands of signatures to be on the ballot.
