Ruth Bader Ginsburg an old progressive activist unfit for the bench

Ruth-Bader-Ginsburg

Yes, she is a progressive radical that appears to rule on ideology instead of law and the constitution, just like another phony of the past that sat on the bench, Thurgood Marshall. Oh, you can’t say anything bad about Marshall.

Well, that’s because of the progressives rewriting history, just like they’ve done with FDR. Do the research and look at original documents and you will find the truth. Marshall was not all that.

There are three radicals on the SCOTUS right now. Kagan, Sotomayor and Ginsburg. I suspect all three will rule in favor of the clearly unconstitutional ObamaCare socialized medicine law. It’s really sad when justices vote or rule based on ideology instead of the constitution, but that’s what some do.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg does not like our constitution, it isn’t progressive enough for her. What you need to do is spend 19 minutes listening to the audio of this video, some of you might actually learn something.

Ginsburg said to the Egyptians, “Look to the Constitutions of South Africa or Canada, Not to the US Constitution.”

And to think, someone like that is sitting on the Supreme Court. She needs to be removed. She’s gone senile.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Advises Egyptians on New Constitution

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was interviewed by the Egyptian newspaper al Hayat. The interview has a fragment of wisdom, and a far greater measure of folly. The bit of wisdom she imparted referred to the need for the people who are being governed to have within them a respect for the law and for fellow citizens.

Let me say first that a constitution, as important as it is, will mean nothing unless the people are yearning for liberty and freedom. If the people don’t care, then the best constitution in the world won’t make any difference. So the spirit of liberty has to be in the population, and then the constitution – first, it should safeguard basic fundamental human rights, like our First Amendment, the right to speak freely, and to publish freely, without the government as a censor.

What is truly disturbing about the interview is the manner in which she cites the age of the US constitution as a reason for recommending against its adoption by the Egyptians. She specifically recommended the constitutions of South Africa and Canada as being more up to date.

Egypt has serous problems with its respect for religious freedom and the rights of minorities. The largest minority in Egypt, a minority that in practice enjoys little protection is the Coptic Christian minority, that is prevented from maintaining its churches and from defending itself against attacks in its buildings and its citizens. The United States started out as a nation in which non whites and women did not enjoy the equal protection of law. Through moral evolution and looking within the text of its founding documents, it found a way to evolve in its approach to the franchise and to political empowerment.

It was disrespectful of the constitution in which she sits in judgment for Ruth Bader Ginsburg to recommend against its adoption abroad. She was far stronger when she spoke of America’s societal and legal evolution since its founding in the 18th century, but was skating on thin ice when she spoke of societies very different from ours and spoke superficially of their constitutions as being better suited to modern times.

The question of Canada and its Francophone minority, and South Africa in its post apartheid evolution are complex isssues. To what extent their legal systems have aided or hindered their evolution is not simple. The US is busy correcting a lot of mistakes earlier in its history and making a lot of new ones that will hopefully be protected by future generations. In some cases, for instance, discrimination that is defined as corrective of past injustices is given the force of law. “Separation of church and state is interpreted in a way that puts an unfair burden on children of private school students to pay for the schools they have chosen, as well as the schools operated by the government. The strength of America’s constitution is precisely the fact that it is a time hallowed document, and that it has survived and facilitated massive societal changes. It would be good if Justice Ginsburg would convey this message when she speaks of our Constitution to foreign audiences
