Tuesday, September 13 is Primary Day in New York.

There are two Republican candidates vying for a seat in Westchester’s County Legislature, District 2, but there is only one candidate deserving of your vote – Lisa Douglas.  Lisa Douglas is working the uphill battle of challenging the ‘one hand washes the other’ system put in place by the hierarchy of the Westchester Republican and Conservative Parties, respectively.

As a Republican – he not only gave to Obama he gave to the Forward Together PAC (which is worse in my mind). Do some research on that scary group! As to ‘a small amount of money’ – good to know Michaelis finds $1000 chump change. As to the rest of the article it just proves the point that he stands for nothing as he’s willing to play both sides of the fence and his statement ‘You can't just take a stance that says you're either with me or against me’ proves. I’m not going there to make friends, I have enough.
At the end of the day Patriots it comes down to this – who do you want to put in charge of YOUR tax dollars – someone who thinks $1000 is ‘a very small amount of money’; someone looking to go along to get along OR someone who understands that it’s a great deal of money; who has a sound principled grounding and truly wants to get Westchester back on track by making the tough decisions?

In a speech Thursday morning on the steps of North Salem’s Town Hall, North Salem resident Lisa Douglas declared that she is taking steps to demand a Republican primary election for the candidacy of County Legislator for District 2 for the seat currently held by Peter Harckham (D-Katonah).

Well, last night was the Republican Convention. Having never attended one before, it was interesting. I congratulate all the winners last night – especially Susan Konig! I did not receive the Republican nod my opponent Peter Michaelis did. Peter is from Bedford. I never imagined that I would get the nod and knew from the get go I would have to primary – so here we are. Primaries are sometimes important for they allow We the People to have a voice in the process – it allows us to choose the better candidate vs. the committee weighted votes.

It’s interesting that he hasn’t donated to local campaigns other than Hamilton Fish Jr. (dem) way back when. In the 90’s he was clearly supporting Democrats with contributions to Senator Ted Kennedy and Carole Mosely Braun.

This is not a contest between 2 or 3 people - this is a contest between two ideologies. I believe/ stand for, fiscal responsibility, personal accountability and limited government. I do not believe in the redistribution of wealth; do not believe that bigger government is the answer to what ails us; do not believe in nor support the ‘hope and change’ mantra.

Democrat Peter Harckham must now fend off not one, but two, Republicans in his bid for re-election as county legislator.

A few weeks after Katonah’s Peter Michaelis announced his bid for the District 2 seat, North Salem resident Lisa Douglas declared her intent to run as well, on May 19. Like Mr. Michaelis, Ms. Douglas is seeking the Republican, Conservative and Independence lines.

Spoken like a true patriot!  This my fellow patriots is an account of what is happening locally in the political scene.  My personal opinion is that this same situation is happening locally and nationally.  I witnessed this myself during the 2010 campaign season.  The candidates that represent my concerns were dismissed by the powers that be. 

I consider myself to be conservative.  My values would fall in line with the republican party if they held to the tradition of what the republican party used to represent, smaller government, less spending.  But over time we have witness they are RINO's and they go by party favors and they are not standing on principle.  Now we are throwing TP candidates into the mix and the 'good ol' boys' are not happy with this situation and they think the TP Candidates will fall in line.  Well I believe they are in for a big surprise.  Lisa Douglas the founder of The Hudson Valley Patriots and the Need To Know News is not about to fall in line.  Sorry guys!  The gig is up!  ~ C4F
