On May 4th I attended a Meet & Greet hosted by Sheryl Thomas of Tea Party Works to hear what Chris Gibson had to say. Gibson is a republican congressman (considered a “centrist” by some) campaigning for reelection. I have been to many of these political events for both republican and democrats. As Gibson began speaking I had to double check the program. I was sure Gibson was listed as a republican but listening to him speak I found him to be to the left of many democrats. This made it difficult to adjust to what I was hearing. What made things even more confusing is that Gibson has the blessing and full support of the Republican Party.

The Conservative Party and the New York Republican Party were once allies. The Conservative line on regional and statewide ballots were often the boost Republican candidates needed to beat their Democratic rivals. In a state that’s decidedly blue, Conservative Party endorsements were sought after by Republicans, and moderate candidates would often move to the right during campaigns to appease more conservative voters.

Only in New York City could three separate law enforcement agencies obfuscate responsibility for upholding gun laws and resort to finger pointing as their defense to shamelessly robbing the public under color of the “rule of law.” Not surprisingly, the Second Amendment receives an inordinate amount of attention, but not much legal scrutiny from self-serving New Yorkers and the entities they represent.

New York gun owners finally have something to celebrate -- a rare double victory in the Empire State. The New York state budget was signed today by Governor Andrew Cuomo, and it eliminated CoBIS, the costly state ballistic identification database that wasted millions of taxpayer dollars while failing to solve a single crime. The final budget bill also struck a microstamping provision that had been included in an earlier Assembly version of the state budget.

Nowhere is the assault on the Second Amendment more evident than in New York City where unsuspecting airline passengers are winding-up in jail after running afoul of Mayor Bloomberg’s interpretation of the Second Amendment. The NY mayor’s dislike of firearms is well known, and he even formed an “anti-gun” taskforce. For Republican State Sen. Greg Ball of Patterson, the Southeast stop of his legislative road show began and ended off-script.
For starters, when the senator arrived shortly before 7:30—the Southeast Town Board’s appointed hour to convene Thursday evening—he was forced to join staff and a rapidly growing number of constituents confined to the town hall lobby. Closed doors denied everyone access to the John Dunford Civic Center auditorium, where the town board sat sequestered in an unscheduled, apparently unannounced executive session.

NEW YORK (AP) — After same-sex marriage becomes legal here on July 24, gay priests with partners in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island will head to the altar. They have to. Their bishop set a nine-month deadline for them to marry or stop living together.
Next door, meanwhile, the Episcopal bishop of New York says he also expects gay clergy in committed relationships to wed "in due course." Still, this longtime supporter of gay rights says churches in his diocese are off limits for gay weddings until he receives clearer liturgical guidance from the national denomination.

I’m sure that you’ll agree with me that American people’s morality and virtue have been on a downslide for several decades, and getting worse every day. We always say that ‘history repeats itself,’ but you’ll be amazed to see how true that is when Dr. Shanon Brooks, co-founder and president of Monticello College and author presents his inspiring history and education message called ReValue America. ReValue America is about strengthening America not through the top-down approaches of government policies and initiatives, but from the bottom-up, through healthy individuals, families, and communities. It’s about rethinking what education means in our lives and building stronger, wiser families.

On July 12, 2011 4 brave individuals filed a lawsuit against the NY Board Of Elections, NY Republican, & NY Democratic Parties.
An injunction was filed on the same day which required all 62 counties in the state of NY to accept Petitions with the Committeeman title. The lawsuit and injunction could not have come at a better time. For example, on July 13 several Monroe Tea Party folks were denied their petitions because they had the “wrong title and the positions were already filled” according to Orange County Board of Elections Commissioners.

The first hearing is scheduled for July 20th which looks to be interesting.

PALADINO FOR TAX PAYER RELIEF
Tax Payers – Fight for Tax Relief
The Tax Payers Of New York Have Had Enough
PRESS RELEASE:
FROM CARL P. PALADINO
MARCH 18, 2011 REV #3
RE: OPEN MEMO TO DEAN SKELOS
Dean, you are no longer just the Senate Majority Leader. You are the taxpayer’s “opposition” to the Cuomo/Silver cabal charged, as an experienced warrior negotiating from power, to attack the status quo. Below is a link to your interview with Liz Benjamin last week. It was not inspiring.
The taxpayers want jobs and big cuts in spending and taxes, which will help job retention and growth. They don’t care about getting a budget by April 1. The people struggled to give you a Senate majority. If the Senate doesn't change the status quo now, it won’t get another chance and we will lose it in 2012.
The $10 billion concocted deficit was actually more like $3 billion. With the bar on expected achievements [devoid of real tax cuts] set so low by the press and without any significant or organized opposition coming from any source and especially the Senate, Cuomo has created the perfect setting where he can’t lose. With a little smoke and mirrors and an easy buy in by the Senate he will resolve the deficit and be a hero for not raising taxes. The taxpayer will get the status quo and more agony. The tail is wagging the dog. You said to Liz that the Senate budget knocked a few bucks off of Cuomo's budget and you appear to want to call it a day.

In Monday's New York Gubernatorial debate at Hofstra University, Andrew Cuomo depicted himself as an Albany outsider intent on prosecuting governmental wrongdoings. The reality, of course, is the exact opposite: Cuomo has spent his entire adult life in government and politics as an Albany insider. For three years of that lifetime in politics he has been the chief prosecutor of the most corrupt state in America and a member of Governor David Paterson's cabinet.

State Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt has stood on a train station platform to tell commuters about possible fare hikes. The Republican has contacted local schools superintendents in the 97th District to prepare them for state aid cuts. And, she said, in her six years in the Assembly, she's helped more local businesses "with red tape and gridlock than I would have ever dreamed of in this job." We endorse Rabbitt, a small-business owner from Greenwood Lake, for the level-headed sensibility she brings to Albany. She is challenged by Democratic Orange County Legislator Myrna Kemnitz of Monroe, a longtime educator, to represent the 97th District, which includes Hillburn, Sloatsburg and half of Suffern, but is mostly made up of Orange County towns from Tuxedo to Wallkill. As US Secretary of Housing, Andrew Cuomo set Federal Housing Goals that required FannieMae and FreddieMac to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars of bad sub-prime mortgages.
IT WAS CUOMO who lowered lending standards.
IT WAS CUOMO who eliminated down payments.
IT WAS CUOMO who offered 105 percent financing.
IT WAS CUOMO who pushed sub-prime mortgages containing a two percent increase in interest rates, guaranteeing they would crash.
IT WAS CUOMO who cost taxpayers $2.4 trillion and the value of our 401k's when the sub-prime mortgage market collapsed.
As The Village Voice correctly reported in 2008: Cuomo "turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded 'kickbacks' to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. Three to four million families are now facing foreclosure, and Cuomo is one of the reasons why."

Carl McCall claim that Carl Paladino of Buffalo, who defeated former U.S. Rep. Rick Lazio in a GOP gubernatorial primary yesterday, is “unfit” to serve as governor. They are calling him “a divisive figure simply not fit to lead this great state.” While Koch and McCall are Democrats, D’Amato is a Republican.

Fresh off having his mug featured in the New York Times, the gray British Staffordshire bull terrier waited patiently outside the Buffalo Yacht Club on Thursday night while his master, Republican gubernatorial nominee Carl P. Paladino, served up plenty of red meat inside.
Then the candidate went back outside, grabbed a leash and took Duke for a walk.

NIAGARA FALLS — At the end of Buffalo-Niagara Falls developer and Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino’s victory speech, in the atrium of his Ellicott Square Building, he made orange, mock construction hats available to supporters.
Like the sports paraphernalia that touts the winning team’s championship directly after the final gun of the final game, Paladino’s hats were made ahead of time and the two labels that they bore, one on the outside and the other on the inside, told the whole story. NIAGARA FALLS — Buffalo developer and gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino has been from one side of the state to the other in recent weeks.
On Monday, he came back to his roots in Western New York, where he spoke to a crowd of about 200 supporters at the Town of Wheatfield community center.
The dark horse candidate for governor, who recently petitioned his way into a primary against endorsed Republican Rick Lazio, told visitors at a public forum held by the Niagara County Patriots organization that everywhere he’s been so far, he’s seen similar looks on the faces of hard-working taxpayers who are at the point now where they no longer know where to turn to find answers to their serious concerns about the state of their state and federal governments.

ALBANY -- Rick Lazio, a former congressman, has the backing of just about every county Republican leader in his run to be New York's next governor. He's got the essential Conservative Party endorsement and already fended off two better-financed challengers at the Republican convention, one of whom was backed by the state chairman.

Perhaps one of the greatest benefits to come from the simple act of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signing her state's new immigration legislation into law was the beginning of a much-needed, long overdue national discussion on the subject of border security. There were understandable concerns raised when SB1070 was passed. Questions were raised about the possibility of racial profiling and police being put in a potentially untenable position when enforcing the law. But Arizona's governor quickly moved to sign HB2162, which clarified troubling aspects of the legislation.

ALBANY -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino rolled out a new strategy for blocking the planned construction of a Muslim community center and mosque two blocks from ground zero: If elected governor, he would use the power of eminent domain to take the site. "I've been driving land-use issues for 40 years, and I understand the full powers of the governor," said Paladino, a Buffalo-based developer, in a statement posted Thursday morning on his Facebook page.

Rochester, New York . . . July 20, 2010 – At a press conference today in Rochester, the New York State Republican Party and its Chairman Ed Cox, joined by United States Senate Candidate Gary Berntsen, launched a website devoted to informing New Yorkers why re-electing Democratic Party Kingpin Chuck Schumer to the U.S. Senate would cause further damage to the Empire State, its economy, job market, and our hard-working families. The new website, www.ChuckingSchumer.com, cites Schumer’s record during more than 30 years in government as a self-serving, media-obsessed political creature who puts politics first at the expense of the people he was elected to serve.
