The Obama administration said Monday that it would appeal a federal judge’s ruling that the Environmental Protection Agency illegally vetoed a major coal mining project in West Virginia.

In a scathing decision in March, the United States District Court judge, Amy Berman Jackson, wrote that the E.P.A.’s unilateral decision in January 2011 to retroactively revoke the waste disposal permit for the Spruce No. 1 mine in Logan County, W.Va., overstepped the agency’s authority. Her ruling paved the way for the mountaintop removal mining project covering 2,278 acres to go forward.

Yesterday had been so difficult for Elisa and Christina. Their Omi, the family Matriarch, was really gone. They introduce the list, which excludes elected officials, by saying:

When that happens, give credit to the activists and movements that fought to take those ideas from the margins to the mainstream. It appears that Barack Obama has again ignored the rule of law by signing a defense appropriations bill that prohibits him sharing vital United States leading-edge strategic US missile technology with Russia, yet he has told both houses of Congress that he plans to share the US missile technology anyway.  Why is this important?  Because it goes light-years beyond partisan politics and into an area where our national defense will be put at unreasonable risk.  It is believed that the Russians will pass this technology onto China, Iran and North Korea.

On January 2, Alan Colmes on Fox News mocked presidential hopeful Rick Santorum and Santorum's wife for bringing their critically ill newborn son, Gabriel, into the world and then bringing him home.  Gabriel died 16 years ago, and Karen Santorum wrote a heartrending book, Letters to Gabriel, which describes how the couple dealt with the grief of his death.  Mother Teresa wrote the foreword for the book.

A campus conservative at UC Davis was so disgusted by slanted coverage of the Occupy movement that he reached out to Fox News and provided the channel a video showing police officers being surrounded by protesters after dismantling an illegal tent site. Marcus Shibler, chairman of Davis College Republicans, says the officers were met with chants of “F—- the police.”

Meanwhile, one of the UC Davis faculty members involved in leading the protests is scheduled to teach a course on Marxism and is now calling for the campus police to be completely evicted from the university.

During Occupy Wall Street’s March for Racial Justice and Against Police Brutality march last night, the Occupiers gave me a glimpse into their game plan going forward, and it’s looks like things could get really ugly.

In strategic terms, the OWS next phase plan can be broken down into two parts:

• The Occupiers will force a major confrontation with police.
• They will attempt to effectively shut down a portion of New York City.

It is not clear to me in what order those events will occur, or when either will be attempted, but I do believe after hearing and seeing the marchers in action that both a confrontation and shutdown are now goals of the OWS movement.

Look for yourself, look in every place of business you go into, whether it is a gas station, furniture stores, Target, Walmart, even Post Office...The debit card machines are there. Look in the gas station, you will see 2 machines, one for regular credit cards, and one for the debit cards. This is why Bank of America wanted to charge debit fees for these cards. Think of all the money they would make from these cards when Obama has flooded our country with $400 billion of these handouts amongst other wealth re-distribution programs. As Oakland braces for Wednesday's general strike, potentially the biggest demonstration in the East Bay since the Vietnam War, Mayor Jean Quan found herself under fire, both from her own Police Department and a neighboring mayor, for her handling of the Occupy Oakland protests.

In a letter posted on its website Tuesday, the Oakland Police Officer's Association said Quan is sending conflicting orders and that "we need real leaders now who will step up and lead -- not send mixed messages."

Many “Occupy Wall Street” protesters arrested in New York City reside in more luxurious homes than some of their rhetoric might suggest, a Daily Caller investigation has found.

For each of the 984 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrested in New York City between September 18 and October 15, police collected and filed an information sheet recording the arrestee’s name, age, sex, criminal charge, home address and — in most cases — race. The Daily Caller has obtained all of this information from a source in the New York City government.

Is it possible that a collection of left wing groups just decided all on their own to enter Manhattan? What are the chances that they would unanimously agree to converge on the only privately owned public space owned by a corporation that had a loan pending with the Obama administration? When my wife was born into this world, she was behind the Iron Curtain. Her Great-grandfather, a long time prior to my wife's birth, had pretty significant land and wealth stolen from him by the Communists.

Decades after her family was robbed of what her ancestors had worked so hard to create, at approximately 11 pm on August 20th, 1968, Eastern Bloc armies from Warsaw Pact countries invaded Czechoslovakia. That night, 200,000-500,000 Warsaw Pact troops and thousands of tanks invaded the country, in response to the 'Prague Spring' reforms, reasserting the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia's control over the nation, which had been slipping away. The Czechs & Slovaks were aching for liberty, and so the Soviets crushed their hopes, killing over 100 protesters (and 20 honest Journalists at Radio Prague), and wounding about 500, as their 2,000 tanks & 200,000 troops damaged, murdered, raped and pillaged.

Livid lower Manhattan residents went off on Zuccotti Park protesters at a heated Community Board 1 meeting last night and blasted politicians for not controlling the chaos.

“They’re defecating on our doorsteps,” fumed board member Catherine Hughes, a stay-at-home mom who lives one block from the protest. “The cowbells start at 4 a.m. and the drumming goes past 10 a.m. A lot of people are very frustrated. A lot of people are concerned about the safety of our kids.”

The trash generated by the “Occupy Wall Street” protests keeps piling up. So do the bills. Liberal media outlets claim the anarchic, anti-capitalist movement is more popular than the Tea Party. But wait until Americans across the country get a full picture of the costs of the aimless occupiers.

In New York City, government officials estimate the month-long siege of Zuccotti Park has now imposed $3.2 million in overtime police costs on the public. On Thursday, as Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office pressured left-wing activists to vacate the park for cleaning, Occupy Wall Street urged sympathizers to flood the city’s customer services lines: “Call 311 and tell Bloomberg not to evict us!”

In a move that may redefine the term “strange bedfellows,” the American Nazi Party issued an official endorsement of the Occupy Wall Street protest movement on Sunday afternoon. The announcement put the organization, a self-described “National Socialist” political party, in company with the Socialist Party USA, which explained its own support for the left-wing protesters in a nationwide conference call last Tuesday night, crediting organized labor with the protests’ strength and sophistication to date.

A few days ago the Los Angeles City Council unanimously, passed a resolution in "support" of the Occupy L.A. squatters who’ve been living in tents in the small park that surrounds Los Angeles City Hall. It’s worth noting that there is not a single Republican on the Los Angeles City Council. L.A. mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa (also a Democrat) is expected to sign the resolution.

Barack Obama, US president, offered more support for protesters against the global financial system after a weekend of demonstrations in cities around the world, but called on them not to “demonise” those who worked on Wall Street.

On Sunday, Mr Obama honoured Martin Luther King at a dedication to a new memorial on National Mall in Washington. Referring to protests that have spread from Wall Street to London, Rome and elsewhere, Mr Obama said: “Dr King would want us to challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonising those who work there.” Mr Obama had previously said the protests “express the frustration” of ordinary Americans with the financial sector.

Two days after Mayor Michael Bloomberg said protesters could stay in Zuccotti Park "indefinitely" if they followed the law, the mayor visited them tonight to say they had to be out of there by Friday, according to the mayor's office. The reason given by the mayor tonight was that the park needs to be cleaned. 

The request to clean the park is coming from the company that owns it, Brookfield Office Properties, on whose behalf the chief executive wrote a two-page letter to the NYPD asking for help "to clear the Park" and to "assist" on an "ongoing basis" to keep the area safe and clean.

In the Oct. 11 letter to NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Brookfield's C.E.O., Richard B. Clark, said the four-week old "trespassing of the protesters" has created "a health and public safety issue that must be addressed immediately."

America is undergoing a revolution. Two revolutions, to be exact. One is made up of hardworking families who believe that what matters -- or should matter -- are their good efforts, minimal government intrusion in their lives, and a fair but free enterprise system that incentivizes small businesses and doesn't countermand that incentive by imposing a burdensome tax liability.

The other revolution is made up of people who believe that both government and those who are successful in life owe them something; that the United States should be a nation of equitable distribution, and not one of free enterprise. Sadly, the polling tells me that these two nations within one are meeting in the middle. They don't share beliefs, but they are sharing similar frustrations.

VANCOUVER, Canada — Protests against corporate power in the United States began in the basement of an old house in Vancouver, behind massive trees, down wooden stairs, past a box of soup cans for recycling, at the world headquarters of Adbusters magazine.

Last July the counter-culture magazine, known for campaigns like “buy nothing day,” printed a poster calling on activists to occupy Wall Street in New York on September 17.

Many curious citizens and media outlets came to the first Occupy Atlanta event, and were visible shocked and confused by the consistent Marxism employed by the group. People abandoned their individuality and liberty to be absorbed into a hypnotizing collective. The facilitator made it clear that he was not a "leader" and that everyone was completely equal; words often spoken by leftists, but in this case they actually applied their philosophy. Into this surreal and oppressive environment, Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights hero and icon of American leftism, came to speak as has so often done at left-wing rallies and events in Atlanta.

House Democratic leader NANCY PELOSI, to CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR, for ABC’s “This Week,” on whether she supports the Occupy Wall Street protests: “Well, I support the message to the establishment — whether it’s Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest — that change has to happen. . . . I think one of the most angry responses I’ve seen to actions in Washington came after we passed the TARP bill. . . . People are angry . . . that they don’t have jobs. . . . [T]here’s nothing that makes you angrier than not being able to provide for your family or understand what your prospects are for the future. And I do think that, from what we saw after TARP, that the focus on Wall Street was one that they thought was a legitimate place to go: ‘Don’t do this again. As the Occupy Wall Street protests surge in size and spread across the country, the Occupy Sacramento offshoot appears to be both confused, and angry when asked simple questions about their purpose.

About 300 protestors showed up in a downtown Sacramento park Thursday morning to kick off the Occupy Sacramento movement, and they did not take kindly to the the presence of a local CBS reporter. They also couldn‘t agree on why they’re there.

Bantering with the audience at a fundraiser in St. Louis yesterday, President Barack Obama bragged about a new regulation, proposed by the Department of Health and Human Services, that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has denounced as an “unprecedented attack on religious liberty.”

“Darn right!” an audience member at the fundraiser shouted as Obama described the regulation.

First, the message is frustrating. They show Piven calling for a “popular uprising” and calling Wall St. bankers “thieves,“ ”cannibals,“ and the ”big problem.”

Second, the way it is delivered might be compared to fingernails on the chalkboard. See, it’s become popular for the Occupy Wall St. protesters to mimic and repeat everything their speakers say. Barbara Boxer claimed that “Well-dressed” protesters at Town Hall meetings are out to “hurt our president.” House Majority leader Nancy Pelosi tried to argue that protesters are “carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare.” A DNC attack ad called those who oppose the leftist congressional agenda “angry mobs” and “extremists.” The President sent out a rallying call for people to forward emails to the White House that were critical of his policies. “Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. We asked our Facebook fans about possible stories this weekend and found a few of our readers curious about the “Occupy Wall Street” protest happening in New York. One reader asked that we help give the story some attention due to an alleged “media black-out,” while another reader suggested we publish evidence showing the protest was not tea party movement driven and had an underlying agenda.

For those who haven’t heard of the event, Occupy Wall Street is a supposedly grassroots organized, “freedom” driven project aimed at coordinated mass protests against big money special interests. What would you do if you knew the top Democrat running for president was lying about his past?  That is the question I was faced with in 2008. I had met the young Barack Obama while he was a sophomore at Occidental College, and I knew that his commitment to socialism was deep, genuine and long-standing.

I had been a leader of the Marxist students at Occidental College myself starting in 1976 when I founded the precursor of the Democrat Socialist Alliance on campus.  The young Obama I knew was a Marxist socialist who would have been quite comfortable with Communist Party members like his Hawaii mentor Frank Marshall Davis, retired domestic terrorists like Bill Ayers, or active socialist politicians like Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer.

RUSH:  Does anybody now doubt that this is on purpose? I mean, after all, Barack Obama inherits a AAA credit rating from George W. Bush, and look what he does to it.  Obama is always running around complaining and whining and moaning about all that he inherited from George W. What are the Democrats doing?  Blaming the referees! Blaming Standard & Poor's! That always changes the outcome, doesn't it?  Blame the refs.  You people in Seattle? The Seahawks, Super Bowl, 2005, Steelers? Blame the refs.  Last time I looked the Steelers still won the game.  So go ahead and blame Standard & Poor's all you want, Democrats. Now they're blaming the military!
