Two days ago, the Monroe Township Schools pulled two books off of their summer reading list in response to complaints by parents about the books’ contents. Superintendent Chuck Earling offered as an explanation that “We were not trying to create controversy. We were just trying to get students to read.” The books had been selected by committee and approved by the school district, but the district is now promising to include parents in the selection committee in the future. Why? Because both books contained graphic homosexual imagery.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--As the practice of homeschooling continues to grow, an expert has noticed a "marked increase" in the scrutiny that parents and students can face when they choose to pursue an education at home.
"I think what we're seeing is unfortunately a growing trend," Michael Farris, chancellor of Patrick Henry College, told Baptist Press.

This UN atrocity is near and dear to my heart. I have been working to help stop it since last year. There is a UN resolution that Hillary Clinton is supporting; we should be well aware of it to help stop it. It is called the "UN Resolution Convention on the Rights of the Child."
I feel very strongly about this issue being a homeschooling mother of three. I want to ensure that this never gets passed so my children will have the same freedoms I do to homeschool their children. Please share this issue. ~ C4F

CONCORD, NH, March 17, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The New Hampshire Supreme Court upheld a lower court order Wednesday that sided with the father of a homeschooled student and forced her into a government-run school against her Christian mother’s wishes.

GRAY, Tenn., January 4, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - As the modern-day homeschool movement confidently marches forward into its fourth decade, colleges and universities are opening wide their doors to welcome its mature, prepared graduates to their ranks. Homeschoolers score an average of 37 percentile points above the national average on standardized achievement tests and typically score above average on the SAT and ACT, statistics that apparently have caught the eye of college admissions personnel. Since 1999, the number of homeschoolers in the United States has increased by 74%, and today thousands of young men and women are graduating from high school—at home.

In August 2001, the cover of Time magazine posed this question: "Is Home Schooling Good for America?" Today, as more and more adults who were homeschooled assume positions of leadership and service in our nation, we answer Time's question with a resounding "Yes!"

An international organization that has fought pitched battles over parents' rights to educate their own children in Germany, Sweden and the United States, as well as lesser fights in a number of other countries, is taking on officialdom in Botswana after police there grilled homeschoolers, confiscated their teaching materials and ordered them to appear in court.
The education Nazi's are about to step into your home and take your children. I am a homeschooling mother and if the UN Right's of the child comes to pass here in USA we will be denied the right to homeschool. Do you believe that those in power know better for your children? They will educate your children in all the perversions that exist. We must elected candidates with values and principles this November. God, country and family will bring sanity back in politics. Wake up America! ~ C4F

More than 22,620 Texas secondary students who stopped showing up for class in 2008 were excluded from the state's dropout statistics because administrators said they were being home-schooled, according to Texas Education Agency figures.
But that's where the scrutiny of this growing population seems to end, leaving some experts convinced that schools are disguising thousands of middle and high school dropouts in this hands-off category.
While home-schooling's popularity has increased, the rate of growth concentrated in Texas' high school population is off the chart: It's nearly tripled in the last decade, including a 24 percent jump in a single year.
“That's just ridiculous,” said Brian D. Ray, founder of the National Home Education Research Institute. “It doesn't sound very believable.”
