JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Rush Limbaugh was officially inducted Monday into the Hall of Famous Missourians.
But Democrats are still hopeful his bronze bust will never be on display alongside those of Harry Truman, Mark Twain and Walt Disney.
The conservative radio talk show host was inducted in a state Capitol ceremony. But in a break from tradition, the public and Democratic lawmakers were not allowed into the chambers of the House of Representatives, which were locked and guarded by armed members of the Missouri Highway Patrol while the ceremony took place.

We will, make no mistake, but actually replacing Breitbart? Not going to happen.

America is undergoing a revolution. Two revolutions, to be exact. One is made up of hardworking families who believe that what matters -- or should matter -- are their good efforts, minimal government intrusion in their lives, and a fair but free enterprise system that incentivizes small businesses and doesn't countermand that incentive by imposing a burdensome tax liability.
The other revolution is made up of people who believe that both government and those who are successful in life owe them something; that the United States should be a nation of equitable distribution, and not one of free enterprise. Sadly, the polling tells me that these two nations within one are meeting in the middle. They don't share beliefs, but they are sharing similar frustrations.

In an otherwise unremarkable town hall meeting, Bachmann turned a potentially embarrassing encounter with a grouchy voter into an opportunity to win the most treasured political commodity in Iowa these days: a vote in Saturday's Republican straw poll.

RUSH: Does anybody now doubt that this is on purpose? I mean, after all, Barack Obama inherits a AAA credit rating from George W. Bush, and look what he does to it. Obama is always running around complaining and whining and moaning about all that he inherited from George W. Bush. Well, he inherited a AAA credit rating, an unemployment rate of 5.7%. Does anybody doubt that this is on purpose? Well, look, my credit rating doesn't suck. There are a lot of individual Americans whose credit ratings aren't in trouble. The United States has never been in this position -- and the next thing that's gonna happen is that Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and others are going to be downgraded.
What are the Democrats doing? Blaming the referees! Blaming Standard & Poor's! That always changes the outcome, doesn't it? Blame the refs. You people in Seattle? The Seahawks, Super Bowl, 2005, Steelers? Blame the refs. Last time I looked the Steelers still won the game. So go ahead and blame Standard & Poor's all you want, Democrats. Now they're blaming the military! Barney Frank's blaming the military. Rumsfeld was on our DC affiliate this morning, WMAL. You know our military spending is 4% of GDP right now? Military spending is 4% of GDP. During the Eisenhower administration in the fifties, post WWII, defense spending was 10% of GDP. Today it's 4% of GDP, and Barney Frank and the Democrats are trying to say it's the military's fault that we've been downgraded. |

Taking over the GOP has barely begun and, more importantly, the Tea Party (and other conservative activists) taking over the GOP involves many more people, groups, and organizations than the Concord Project.

The lawsuit and injunction could not have come at a better time. For example, on July 13 several Monroe Tea Party folks were denied their petitions because they had the “wrong title and the positions were already filled” according to Orange County Board of Elections Commissioners.

In an historic reversal of the 20th century migration that brought millions north in search of economic opportunity, African American families are abandoning the failed liberal communities in which they have lived for decades.

While it appears that the country is on some sort of "I adore Ayn Rand" movement, the truth of who she was and what she believed is not always fully comprehended.
To begin with, Ayn Rand, as documented by many of her biographers, was a bit of a tyrant in her dealing with others, which is fairly inconsistent with what she espouses. And certainly her personal life could not be held to a high moral standard. Setting aside her morals (since who of us is perfectly moral) it can be said that she lived what she preached; a life of rational self-interest.

Sarah Palin Steps Into Wisconsin, Points To Left Field, And Hits a Grand Slam

biggovernment
UPDATE: Oh look, the MSM’s already making thing’s up. See here.
If Sarah Palin’s not running for president, what a terrible waste that would be of the single best stump speech I’ve heard since, well, Palin’s ’08 convention speech, which just happened to be the single most electrifying political moment of my adult life. A thrill didn’t just run up my leg that night, it ran up everything in me that’s American, and today in Madison, WI, it happened again. Surrounded by an obnoxiously hostile, astro-turfed, pro-union crowd that tried and failed to drown out her message with obnoxiously hostile astro-turfed noise, the former Alaskan Governor took the fight directly to the growing pile of Obama’s failures in the most effective way we’ve heard yet from a potential GOP challenger.

Top Ten Things I am Thankful For This Thanksgiving
1. Above all, I am grateful for my savior, Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself on the cross for my sins and those of all who will come before Him. Then, showing Himself to be our eternal God and Creator, He rose from the grave and sent His Holy Spirit to live in the hearts of believers. Before this unfathomable truth, all other blessings pale. Thank you, Jesus, for being the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Who is and was and is to come!

Public educators and the media can scoff all they want, but one thing is undeniable -- home-educated youth are dramatically changing America's political landscape. For years liberals have sought to contain the home-school movement by harassing families and banning their children from publicly funded athletic programs and other extracurricular activities. It hasn't worked. On the contrary, these discriminatory practices have created a generation of motivated activists.

There are quotes from Republicans talking about compromise with Obama when the new Congress is seated in January (presumably with a Republican-majority House and possibly a 50-50 or slight Republican-majority Senate). Rush read from these pieces and started lambasting Republicans and RINOs stating that if this is actually their position, they have learned NOTHING from the last 18 months and the work by the Tea Party movement and they will suffer severely for it. He quoted Darrell Issa as mentioning this compromise. The Republicans' reasoning seems to be that even if they win Congress they will not be in control so they will need to compromise to prevent being blamed for "shutting the government down." Rush went ballistic!! ~ Peg

The Tea Party isn’t that complicated a phenomenon. Robert A. Heinlein described their essential nature decades ago:
Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.

IT WAS CUOMO who lowered lending standards.
IT WAS CUOMO who eliminated down payments.
IT WAS CUOMO who offered 105 percent financing.
IT WAS CUOMO who pushed sub-prime mortgages containing a two percent increase in interest rates, guaranteeing they would crash.
IT WAS CUOMO who cost taxpayers $2.4 trillion and the value of our 401k's when the sub-prime mortgage market collapsed.
As The Village Voice correctly reported in 2008: Cuomo "turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded 'kickbacks' to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. The prominent Buffalo developer told the Syracuse Post-Standard that such a rejection was "one of the reasons your city is dying," and pledged to stop developing such stores in the struggling upstate city.

Cathy Paladino stroked the arm of the couch she was sitting on in her husband’s campaign headquarters, first in small circles, then larger ones, as if to assure the couch that both she and it would get through this just fine.
She was talking about her husband’s affair, a subject she was ready, if not eager, to address. Since her husband, Carl, won the Republican nomination for governor of New York last week, the only story in the race as compelling as his upset victory has been their personal back story: that her husband not only had an affair, not only fathered a child with that other woman, but also told his wife of 40 years about it all the same week that their 29-year-old son, Patrick, was killed in a car accident. He pulled her aside, Ms. Paladino said, as she was looking for family photographs to bring to the wake.

I was drawn into a discussion about Chris Christie and Mark Levin last night on Twitter. I take it that it all started with Allahpundit being a punk, as usual. And, yes, Allah's childish eye-poking of a great many things conservative is punkish, everyone knows it, so, don't whine about my saying so. If that's the way he wants to roll, he can - and he can live with the criticism. I wouldn't, however, call him a ruffian. Maybe he did time somewhere along the way. Who knows.

NEW YORK (1010 WINS / WCBS 880 / CBS 2) — Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer said he will back Democrat Andrew Cuomo come November, but it sure didn’t sound like much of an endorsement.
“Everybody knows that behind the scenes that he’s the dirtiest, nastiest political player out there,” Spitzer said of Cuomo Thursday.

New York Daily News writer, Bill Hammond, wrote a scathing piece on Carl Paladino criticizing him for being business savvy and successful in upstate New York. It is also being featured in the latest Andrew Cuomo “attack” ad against Paladino. Obviously Mr. Hammond is not familiar with New York State north of Westchester, nor is he that familiar with real estate; otherwise he would not be so cynical in his piece.
Carl Paladino is a successful business man. He came from immigrant parents who did it the right way and worked hard to send Carl to college. Carl wants to give this back to New Yorkers. Go Carl! ~ C4F

Here’s something (almost) nobody expected a week ago: Carl Paladino talking to CNN in Central Park.
The commercial real estate developer from Buffalo was asked by Soledad O’Brien to comment about the Islamic cultural center and mosque slated to open in Lower Manhattan. Mr. Paladino, who seemed for a while unable to moderate his over-the-top rhetoric, said the “mosque” was a “side issue” and had “nothing to do with the day to day life of the people in the state of New York.”

As the impending GOP tide threatens to consume the Democrats come November 2, we always figured one sure Democrat winner would be Andrew Cuomo in the New York gubernatorial contest. New York Republican candidate for governor Carl Paladino surged in the polls after winning his party’s nomination and now trails Democrat Andrew Cuomo by 6 percentage points, Quinnipiac University said.
A Buffalo real estate developer and Tea Party supporter, Paladino is favored by 43 percent of likely voters, compared with 49 percent for Cuomo, the state attorney general. In late August, before Paladino was the nominee, a Quinnipiac poll had Cuomo leading by 60 percent to 23 percent.

RUSH: There's a story out of New York. This is in the New York Daily News today. This is going to be interesting. "Stung by Carl Paladino's below-the-belt attacks, an angry Andrew Cuomo summoned his war council on Monday to figure out how to fight back against his slash-and-burn GOP rival." Cuomo sits here with his aides and says: What the hell do we do? "'If a guy says you have no cojones, how do you punch him back...?'" What do we do? Cuomo is sitting there, he's all ticked off. We got all this stuff on Paladino, and we're on the defensive? Here's what you need to know. It's still the lead story at Drudge. Andrew Cuomo's weakness, and everybody in New York knows this -- little dirty secret here. Andrew Cuomo's weakness is that Democrats are afraid of him because of his history of being a hothead and a thug as a campaign manager for his dad, Mario.

In a race that could reach new depths of viciousness - even by New York standards - Cuomo's surrogates painted Paladino as a Tea Party pawn who's racially insensitive.

One of the first columns I composed as a writer was an analysis of the motives behind the criticism of Rush Limbaugh specifically, and public figures who proclaim a set of moral values in general. The editorial coincided with Limbaugh's release from a drug rehabilitation center. I was unprepared for the barrage of hateful and vulgar responses I received from readers, who accused me of unconditionally defending Limbaugh. That was certainly not the case, but today I am clapping for the "Rushbo."
