  1. The man started his presidency off with a bang by botching his oath of office.
  2. For good measure, he set the tone for it by blaming Chief Justice John Roberts for the error.
  3. Obama promises on the campaign trail to immediately shut down Guantanamo Bay.  The detention facility is open three years later and counting.
  4. In the same breath, he promises to restore habeus corpus. Three years into his term, he signs the National Defense Authorization Act, which leaves open the possibility of indefinite detention of American citizens.

ALBANY - Mayor Bloomberg sent hefty thank-you donations to the four state Senate Republicans who voted in favor of gay marriage last month.

Bloomberg had made no secret he'd be willing to back Republicans who stuck their necks out and sided with the majority of Democrats to support same-sex nuptials.

This report reveals the Left’s vote fraud strategy for the 2012 elections. Like a KGB operation, it is thorough, multi-faceted and redundant. It has overt and covert, illegal and legal elements, the latter of which are designed, at least in part, to facilitate illegal activities later. It is a deliberate, premeditated, comprehensive plan to win the 2012 presidential election at all costs, and is in keeping with the organizational methods, associations and ethics of the Community-Organizer-in-Chief, Barack Obama.

Just how unpopular is President Obama in some parts of the country? Enough that a man in prison in Texas received four out of 10 votes in West Virginia's Democratic presidential primary.

Inmate Keith Judd, 53, is serving 17 years for extortion at the Beaumont Federal Correctional Institution in Texas. He was sentenced in 1999 for making threats against the University of New Mexico and is due to be released on June 24 next year.

On May 4th I attended a Meet & Greet hosted by Sheryl Thomas of Tea Party Works to hear what Chris Gibson had to say. Gibson is a republican congressman (considered a “centrist” by some) campaigning for reelection.  I have been to many of these political events for both republican and democrats. As Gibson began speaking I had to double check the program. I was sure Gibson was listed as a republican but listening to him speak I found him to be to the left of many democrats. This made it difficult to adjust to what I was hearing. What made things even more confusing is that Gibson has the blessing and full support of the Republican Party.

WASHINGTON (AP/The Blaze) — Veteran Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar lost a bitter challenge from the right flank of his own Republican Party Tuesday night, his nearly four-decade career in the Senate ended by a tea party-backed GOP foe.

Also Tuesday, North Carolina voters weighed a gay-marriage ban and Democrats were picking a nominee to challenge Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in a June recall election, contests that overshadowed Mitt Romney’s unstoppable progress toward the GOP presidential nomination.

An untold story today following yesterday’s Pennsylvania primaries is what a bad, bad night it was for Planned Parenthood.

PHOENIX — President Obama’s re-election campaign is dispatching workers across Arizona’s college campuses and Latino neighborhoods this spring, registering as many new voters as they can in an organized, three-month effort to determine whether they can put this unlikely state into play for Democrats this November.

By any measure the obstacles are considerable: Arizona has voted for precisely one Democratic president since Truman was in the White House. Yet Mr. Obama’s aides said in interviews that they thought it was possible they could move the needle of history by winning in 2012 a state that analysts believe is heading Democratic in national elections, but may not be there yet.

In his last Afterburner of 2011, Bill Whittle takes a look at the state of this country three years into Obama’s rule and has amassed a list of breathtaking failures bound to stun and/or depress champions of smaller government. Solyndra, Fast & Furious, the Keystone Pipeline and the deficit are just a handful of the scandals that make Bill’s blood boil. So what do we need to do in 2012 to counteract Obama’s policies? Take a look.

Of all the noise of this week's state election results, what mattered most for Election 2012 came out of Virginia. It was the sound of the air leaking out of the Plouffe plan.

That would be David Plouffe, President Obama's former campaign manager and current senior strategist, who is focused today on how to cobble together 270 electoral votes for re-election. That's proving tough, what with the economy hurting Mr. Obama in states like Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania that he won in 2008. The White House's response has been to pin its hopes on a more roundabout path to electoral victory, one based on the Southern and Western states Mr. Obama also claimed in 2008.

National Popular Vote manifesto, 2004

While the lamestream media holds public attention on GOP candidate rivalries, a “progressive” strategy is underway to eliminate the role of the states in electing a U.S. President. By transferring electoral votes to a “national popular vote” this “Compact”  would  usurp the role of the states as safeguarded by our Constitution. In doing so, it could also neutralize Obama’s critics — totally.

It wasn’t that long ago that Republican moneymen and operatives in Washington were moping around K Street like Eeyore in the Hundred Acre Wood, lamenting their party’s extremist image and casting about for a candidate with a chance of beating Barack Obama in 2012. Citing what he called the “near self-immolation” of House Republicans during the debt-ceiling fiasco, Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, worried in early August that a “large number of Republican primary voters, and even more independent general-election voters, will be wary of supporting a Republican candidate in 2012 if the party looks as if it’s in the grip of an infantile form of conservatism.”

Ping: Barack Obama tees off while playing golf at the Vineyard Golf Club in Edgartown

Earlier in the day Mr Obama visited the Bunch of Grapes book shop in Vineyard Haven with daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10 and picked up five or six books.

'They've got to buy some books,' he said, adding that one of his daughters had an assignment.

After going upstairs and looking around the store, Mr Obama was seen with copies of 'Brave New World' and 'The Bayou Trilogy'.

Brave New World is Aldous Huxley's 1932 dystopian novel about a state which controls the behaviour of its people by using technology to keep them superficially happy. Republicans may well read into the purchase.

After tens of millions of dollars spent by outside interest groups, dozens of attack ads and exhaustive get-out-the-vote efforts, Democrats on Tuesday fell short of their goal of taking control of the state Senate and stopping the agenda of Gov. Scott Walker.

Republicans won four of six recall races, meaning the party still holds a narrow 17-16 majority in the Senate — at least until next week, when Sens. Robert Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie, and Jim Holperin, D-Conover face their own recall elections. A third Democrat, Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay, easily survived a recall attempt last month.

(I'm gonna leave Jon Huntsman out of this time; it's not the point.) The whole Republican Party needs to wake up and understand what's at stake here and how to go about it. We have enough destruction taking place here. To sit here and simply say, "To be nice about this, under the guise of civility, isn't going to get the job done." When you got somebody that's causing great problems, this is how you campaign against them...

Yeah. You know, this is probably a good way to put this. The media, for two years has been trying to Palinize Palin — they’ve been trying to destroy her — and what’s happening here is she’s turning the tables on them and she’s Palinizing them, and the Republican Ruling Class is furious. The Republican Ruling Class is furious that Palin, going to all these states on her bus tour, is not coordinating with local Republican organizations, and there’s saying, “This ain’t cool! This is not cool, because if she turns out to be running she doesn’t need to be making enemies out of all these people.” But there’s another way to look at that, and that is: She’s not following a losing script.

Sun Tzu's Art of War says that victory is certain if one defends something the enemy cannot conquer.  A good way to do this is to convey the illusion that the other side can win if only it dedicates even more soldiers, equipment, time, and money to a futile enterprise.  This denies the enemy those resources every bit as effectively as the resources' destruction in combat would, but without the associated risks and reciprocal losses.

Author: Romney's promises to homosexuals still stand

'It's not clear that he ever disavowed any of the things he ever said to them'

The Conservative Political Action Conference gushed over Mitt Romney, giving him standing ovations when he said America needs a new president and that the country is experiencing a "moral tragedy of epic proportion."

The former Massachusetts governor also is pulling his own weight in early presidential straw polls, taking 35 percent of the vote in January's New Hampshire contest.

However, all is not well between social conservatives and Romney over  his pursuit of the GOP nomination for 2012. ABC News political writer Michael Falcone says that Romney's campaign is giving "the cold shoulder" to an Iowa conservative group's Republican candidate forum.

I would like to ask the following question concerning today's double standard society thrust upon Americans;

If New York had a Governor, who was white, and pardoned a convicted white man, for the killing a 17 year old black teenager, what would be happening at this moment. At this time, I want to remind every American of the veto power of the Presidential position at the end of his/her term as President, and remind you to begin preparing yourself. I also would like to suggest that Americans begin to review all of the pardons handed out by Bill Clinton at the end of his term. See below for information limited as it is by the controlled press concerning the 26 pardons handed out by the appointed (not elected) New York Governor for Christmas. Keep in mind the information below is a press release from the Governor's office so the information is slanted to the positive, leaving out alot of the true details and history of the individuals. Hopefully Americans will give thought to these matters and powers granted to elected officials when they vote in elections. My question is unbiased, and straightforward. I leave it to you to answer and give thought to.  ~ Ricki D.

The fiscally conservative tea party activists were crucial to electing pro-life candidates in the 2010 mid-term elections, but now they are calling on Republicans in Congress to avoid social issues like abortion.

Senate Republican Leaders have led an effort to beat back DeMint’s proposal in an effort to save earmarking.  An Earmark is a special project, usually secured by a lobbyist friend of the politician, for a project in a Senator’s home state.  See Bridge to Nowhere is an excellent example of an earmark.  An earmark is a means for Members of Congress to send federal money to projects favored by the member.  These members are elitists who think the Tea Party movement will tolerate Republicans going back to the free spending ways of the Bush years.

Whatever else President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have done over the past two years, they have raised the profile of the Democrat Party – in a negative way. In fact, a new WND/Wenzel Poll reveals that voters like the GOP, take to the tea party just a little less, and end up putting the Democrat Party in third.

Fritz Wenzel conducted the poll Nov. 5-7 with an automated technology calling a random sampling of listed telephone numbers nationwide. It contacted 1,656 people, has a confidence interval of 95 percent and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.37 percentage points.

President Obama was urged by the few White House insiders from whom he still takes advice to leave the country on his ten-day Asian trip, his longest trip abroad since becoming president, in order to not inflict any more damage to the Democratic Party in the wake of one of the worst electoral defeats for the party of an incumbent president in recent history. According to sources close to the White House, who put themselves in great danger by even talking to members of the media, the plans to have Obama leave for a visit to India, Pakistan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Japan are an attempt to get Obama out of the country while top Democrats can sort through the political disaster created for the party by Obama's increasingly detached-from-reality presidency.

Results of the recent elections showed that growing numbers of Americans are fed up with "public servants" who act as if they are public masters. This went beyond the usual objections to particular policies. It was the fact that policies were crammed down our throats, whether we liked them or not. In fact, laws were passed so fast that nobody had time to read them.

It didn’t happen in a state with a nationally significant election. It happened in Iowa.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who took office promising to address longstanding complaints by minority farmers against the department, said eligible farmers and ranchers can receive up to $250,000 each for showing that USDA discrimination caused them economic losses. However, most farmers will probably opt for a uniform $50,000 payment, which involves less red tape

State Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt has stood on a train station platform to tell commuters about possible fare hikes. The Republican has contacted local schools superintendents in the 97th District to prepare them for state aid cuts. And, she said, in her six years in the Assembly, she's helped more local businesses "with red tape and gridlock than I would have ever dreamed of in this job."   We endorse Rabbitt, a small-business owner from Greenwood Lake, for the level-headed sensibility she brings to Albany. She is challenged by Democratic Orange County Legislator Myrna Kemnitz of Monroe, a longtime educator, to represent the 97th District, which includes Hillburn, Sloatsburg and half of Suffern, but is mostly made up of Orange County towns from Tuxedo to Wallkill. Kemnitz also carries the Working Families line, and Rabbitt appears on the Conservative and Independence lines.

[For many years, Catherine Austin Fitts has written and spoken profusely about her experiences as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Perhaps the greatest lesson she learned there is that HUD was being run as a criminal enterprise, most likely financing a black budget and targeting American neighborhoods with narcotics trafficking and mortgage fraud. In this article, she discloses extremely disturbing facts about former HUD Secretary, Andrew Cuomo—how he came to power and the ways in which he and his associates may have benefited from 9/11. Even more disturbing is the fact that Cuomo is currently running for Attorney General of the State of New York, and doing so without investigation into the facts that this article discloses.

There are quotes from Republicans talking about compromise with Obama when the new Congress is seated in January (presumably with a Republican-majority House and possibly a 50-50 or slight Republican-majority Senate).  Rush read from these pieces and started lambasting Republicans and RINOs stating that if this is actually their position, they have learned NOTHING from the last 18 months and the work by the Tea Party movement and they will suffer severely for it.  He quoted Darrell Issa as mentioning this compromise.  The Republicans' reasoning seems to be that even if they win Congress they will not be in control so they will need to compromise to prevent being blamed for "shutting the government down."  Rush went ballistic!!  ~ Peg

I’ve been thinking this for a while so I might as well air it here. I honestly never thought we’d see such a thing in our country – not yet anyway – but I sense what’s occurring in this election is a recklessness and abandonment of rationality that has preceded the voluntary surrender of liberty and security in other places. I can’t help but observe that even some conservatives are caught in the moment as their attempts at explaining their support for Barack Obama are unpersuasive and even illogical. And the pull appears to be rather strong. Ken Adelman, Doug Kmiec, and others, reach for the usual platitudes in explaining themselves but are utterly incoherent. Even non-conservatives with significant public policy and real world experiences, such as Colin Powell and Charles Fried, find Obama alluring but can’t explain themselves in an intelligent way.

NEW YORK — If politics is the art of compromise, no one told Carl Paladino.

The Republican gubernatorial candidate, who tapped into a wellspring of voter anger to grab an unexpected primary win two weeks ago, was very clear on what the next four years would look like if he wins.

In an interview Monday with The Associated Press, the real estate developer insisted he would limit himself to one four-year term and suggested that a little scorched earth probably wouldn't be so bad. When asked how he could work with politicians he's currently speaking out against, the 64-year-old made it clear he had no intention of doing so.

Despite what he says about Manhattan (“home to smug, self-important, pampered liberal elitists”), Carl Paladino wants you to read back issues of the Village Voice — specifically, Wayne Barrett’s 2006 story about the links between Andrew Cuomo and developer Andrew Farkas, who went from being the target of a Cuomo-initiated federal action during the Democrats’ tenure as HUD secretary to then become Cuomo’s employer and, upon his return to politics, one of Cuomo’s most generous contributors and his campaign finance chairman.

Former Rep. Rick Lazio will bow out of the governor’s race today, leaving Republican Carl Paladino to battle Democratic candidate Andrew Cuomo, Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long said.

The party will nominate a new candidate for governor on Wednesday, Long said.
Lazio’s exit from the race helps Paladino, a wealthy Buffalo businessman, in his campaign against the well-funded Cuomo.

The Florida Democratic Party has offered to pay to protect Republican congressional candidate Allen West from identity theft because it sent out a mailer featuring his Social Security number.

West, a retired Army colonel and YouTube sensation running against Rep. Ron Klein, was hit with a tax lien — since paid — in 2005, and the state party attacked him for it and other financial problems in a mailer sent out to 22nd District voters over the weekend.

Who would have predicted this a year ago? Certainly not the complacent army of White House spin doctors who have failed to grasp, let alone acknowledge, the momentous political transformation that is sweeping America. CNN’s latest poll confirms that the Tea Party movement has more political clout than the President of the United States in influencing voters during this November’s mid-terms. While just 37 percent of Americans are more likely to vote for a candidate if backed by Barack Obama, a far larger 50 percent will vote for a Tea-Party endorsed candidate.

As US Secretary of Housing, Andrew Cuomo set Federal Housing Goals that required FannieMae and FreddieMac to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars of bad sub-prime mortgages.

IT WAS CUOMO who lowered lending standards.

IT WAS CUOMO who eliminated down payments.

IT WAS CUOMO who offered 105 percent financing.

IT WAS CUOMO who pushed sub-prime mortgages containing a two percent increase in interest rates, guaranteeing they would crash.

IT WAS CUOMO who cost taxpayers $2.4 trillion and the value of our 401k's when the sub-prime mortgage market collapsed.

As The Village Voice correctly reported in 2008: Cuomo "turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded 'kickbacks' to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. Three to four million families are now facing foreclosure, and Cuomo is one of the reasons why."

When the ultra-liberal Village Voice blames Cuomo for lighting the fuse on the sub-prime mortgage meltdown, even mainstream media reporters sit up and listen:

In June 1997, Carl Paladino had been pushing to build a Rite Aid pharmacy in a Syracuse neighborhood when he was turned away by the city's Planning Commission due to residents' concerns. The prominent Buffalo developer told the Syracuse Post-Standard that such a rejection was "one of the reasons your city is dying," and pledged to stop developing such stores in the struggling upstate city.

Cathy Paladino stroked the arm of the couch she was sitting on in her husband’s campaign headquarters, first in small circles, then larger ones, as if to assure the couch that both she and it would get through this just fine.

She was talking about her husband’s affair, a subject she was ready, if not eager, to address. Since her husband, Carl, won the Republican nomination for governor of New York last week, the only story in the race as compelling as his upset victory has been their personal back story: that her husband not only had an affair, not only fathered a child with that other woman, but also told his wife of 40 years about it all the same week that their 29-year-old son, Patrick, was killed in a car accident. He pulled her aside, Ms. Paladino said, as she was looking for family photographs to bring to the wake.

RUSH: There's a story out of New York.  This is in the New York Daily News today.  This is going to be interesting.  "Stung by Carl Paladino's below-the-belt attacks, an angry Andrew Cuomo summoned his war council on Monday to figure out how to fight back against his slash-and-burn GOP rival." Cuomo sits here with his aides and says: What the hell do we do?  "'If a guy says you have no cojones, how do you punch him back...?'" What do we do?  Cuomo is sitting there, he's all ticked off. We got all this stuff on Paladino, and we're on the defensive?  Here's what you need to know.  It's still the lead story at Drudge.  Andrew Cuomo's weakness, and everybody in New York knows this -- little dirty secret here. Andrew Cuomo's weakness is that Democrats are afraid of him because of his history of being a hothead and a thug as a campaign manager for his dad, Mario.

By J.J. Jackson The National Rifle Association has learned a powerful lesson. That lesson is that they are not the all powerful group they thought they were whose members jump at their mere request. Whether or not they will retain this lesson for use in the future, however, remains to be seen.

In recent months the NRA has made no secret their overt desire to endorse Senator Harry Reid in Nevada’s Senate race. Claiming to be a “single issue” group that only cares about the second amendment, they touted Reid’s record on gun rights as justification for this potential endorsement. What they were not ready for though was the backlash from their members, who had quite a different opinion of Senator Reid.
