PALADINO FOR TAX PAYER RELIEF
Tax Payers – Fight for Tax Relief
The Tax Payers Of New York Have Had Enough
PRESS RELEASE:
FROM CARL P. PALADINO
MARCH 18, 2011 REV #3
RE: OPEN MEMO TO DEAN SKELOS
Dean, you are no longer just the Senate Majority Leader. You are the taxpayer’s “opposition” to the Cuomo/Silver cabal charged, as an experienced warrior negotiating from power, to attack the status quo. Below is a link to your interview with Liz Benjamin last week. It was not inspiring.
The taxpayers want jobs and big cuts in spending and taxes, which will help job retention and growth. They don’t care about getting a budget by April 1. The people struggled to give you a Senate majority. If the Senate doesn't change the status quo now, it won’t get another chance and we will lose it in 2012.
The $10 billion concocted deficit was actually more like $3 billion. With the bar on expected achievements [devoid of real tax cuts] set so low by the press and without any significant or organized opposition coming from any source and especially the Senate, Cuomo has created the perfect setting where he can’t lose. With a little smoke and mirrors and an easy buy in by the Senate he will resolve the deficit and be a hero for not raising taxes. The taxpayer will get the status quo and more agony. The tail is wagging the dog. You said to Liz that the Senate budget knocked a few bucks off of Cuomo's budget and you appear to want to call it a day.

Brighton, N.Y. --- In the last two weeks alone various polls have showed Republican Gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino trailing Democrat Andrew Cuomo by as many as 37 points and as few as 13 points. But how the race for New York Governor pans out is anyone’s guess and this year, perhaps more than any other, is one in which polls never appear to tell the real story.

It was all caught on video and was quickly being viewed around the country to such a degree, it may overtake the Nielsen numbers of "American Idol."

As US Secretary of Housing, Andrew Cuomo set Federal Housing Goals that required FannieMae and FreddieMac to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars of bad sub-prime mortgages.
IT WAS CUOMO who lowered lending standards.
IT WAS CUOMO who eliminated down payments.
IT WAS CUOMO who offered 105 percent financing.
IT WAS CUOMO who pushed sub-prime mortgages containing a two percent increase in interest rates, guaranteeing they would crash.
IT WAS CUOMO who cost taxpayers $2.4 trillion and the value of our 401k's when the sub-prime mortgage market collapsed.
As The Village Voice correctly reported in 2008: Cuomo "turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded 'kickbacks' to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. Three to four million families are now facing foreclosure, and Cuomo is one of the reasons why."

BUFFALO -- For the second time in three months, Republican State Committee Chairman Ed Cox watched his favored candidate go down in flames.
A day after the primary vote, he offered this explanation for Carl Paladino's drubbing of former U.S. Rep. Rick Lazio, who had the support of Cox and much of the established apparatus of Republican New York: "What we are trying to do in this year of the Tea Party is to have a very open process," he said by phone Wednesday, after praising Paladino's victory speech and heeding his call for unity with an ex post facto endorsement.

NIAGARA FALLS — At the end of Buffalo-Niagara Falls developer and Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino’s victory speech, in the atrium of his Ellicott Square Building, he made orange, mock construction hats available to supporters.
Like the sports paraphernalia that touts the winning team’s championship directly after the final gun of the final game, Paladino’s hats were made ahead of time and the two labels that they bore, one on the outside and the other on the inside, told the whole story. The outside one said, “Rebuilding NY with Carl Paladino,” and I’ll get to the inside label in a moment. It tells why.

Despite Rick Lazio's defeat in the Republican gubernatorial primary, State Conservative chairman Michael Long Wednesday said he is sticking with Lazio as the minor party's standard-bearer.
Long's stance is highly significant to the future of New York's Conservative Party because it needs to get at least 50,000 votes in the gubernatorial race to keep a place on the statewide ballot.
"I think the Conservative voters spoke last night in the primary," Long said. "He's our candidate as we move forward."

Democratic gubernatorial frontrunner Andrew Cuomo’s campaign is so far staying in the background when it comes to engaging with his newly-minted GOP opponent, Carl Paladino, but that doesn’t mean the AG is ignoring the Buffalo businessman – far from it, in fact.
The Cuomo camp has deployed a parade of surrogates to attack Paladino, starting with its first line of defense, state Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs, who called the Republican nominee a “wacko” and questioned his ties to state government (through lucratice real estate leases) at a time when “Albany” is the dirtiest word in politics.

When Carl P. Paladino announced his Republican candidacy for governor last spring, most voters paid scant attention to the upstater with a penchant for outrageous comments.
But something is happening. Polls now show the Buffalo developer gaining in his challenge to Rick Lazio, who has the backing of party leaders. And Paladino's rising popularity may stem from the dynamics surrounding that rarest of the state's political happenings -- a Republican Party primary for governor.
